Tom and Rosemary Volker have been welcoming guests to their Victorian gem for 19 years. Located two blocks from the beach, the charming inn has an inviting wraparound porch and 11 guest rooms, all with Victorian-period furnishings. High-season rates: $150-$295.

The inn—with its ocean and lake views— was badly flooded by Sandy, but repairs and renovations are complete. Guests can look forward to central air conditioning and freshly painted rooms, some with hand-painted murals. Each of the eight rooms has its own theme. High-season rates: $195-$295.
